Mission statement

To provide Teaching and Training using a variety of teaching methods appropriate to the subject material and students needs and learning styles. To constantly review, and improve to exceed the needs of our demanding clients.

All courses are designed by qualified teachers with relevant professional subject experience, and the curriculum is specified to meet the needs of regulatory bodies, including the Food Standards Agency, The Pre-School Learning Alliance; The Health and Safety Executive; The Commission for Social Care Inspection.

Training is delivered in a friendly yet professional way; designed to put students at ease while ensuring that learning takes place.

Both ACAS and the Equality and Human Rights Commision recoomend training as means of defence against prsecution

First Aid Courses 

Your first aid requirements are determined by risk assessment, current legislation and any contractual obligations or relationships with other businesses. You must also consider sickness and holiday cover. 

Please note all candidates must be able to undertake the full range of practical skills to be able to undertake their functions in the workplace.

Candidates are strongly advised to wear suitable clothing for practicing practical skills 

Emergency First Aid at Work (Appointed Person) Course 

Designed to meet the new HSE requirements for appointed persons in the workplace. This one day course can be run at times and dates to suit, including late or early starts and weekends as well as 3 x 2 hr evening sessions

Candidate achievement is by a process of continuous practical assessment of practical skills.

Courses may be booked and run at your convenience in your premises for up to twelve people

 

First Aid at Work 

The HSE (and QCA) approved course recognised throughout the United Kingdom .

This three day course can be run on consecutive days, weekends or one day per week.

Candidates are formally assessed under HSE guidelines at the end of the course assessing their First Aid knowledge and practical skills

First Aid at Work Requalification

HSE (and QCA) approved requalification of First Aid at Work

Run over two consecutive days, including weekends, or one day per week

Candidates are formally assessed under HSE guidelines at the end of the course assessing their First Aid knowledge and practical skills

 

Paediatric First Aid

Twelve hour course designed to meet the needs of childcare workers, including nursery staff, foster parents and childminders

Additionally includes short module on child protection and recording procedures

Certificate in Health and Safety Level 2

One day course covering a wide range of Health and safety issues. Giving the student the resources to work safely in the workplace

Subject matters include:

Certificate in Food Safety Level 2

One day course giving the student essential skills to work safely in a food environment

Subject matter includes:

  • Defrosting and cooking times
  • Recognition of food related illnesses
  • How bacteria grows
  • Chilling food
  • Start up and close down procedures
  • Best before and use by dates
  • The danger zone for food
  • Cross contamination
  • Fridge safety and temperatures
  • Cleaning the kitchen

Care Assistant Training

Foundation in Social Care

A two day induction level course offering an insight and basic background to people

considering a career in Social Care covering:

  • Introduction to Social Care
  • Health and Safety for Carers
  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults (POVA)
  • Principles in Moving and Handling

Assessment is through continuous assessment and written examination

 

Certificate in Social Care

A five day course covering skills essential care skills necessary to commence a career in social care. Mapped to meet best practice, current legislation, the needs of the Care Industry; Induction Standards and aspects of Knowledge Evidence for NVQ
