Covers in greater depth communication skills including: verbal skills including paralanguage, cultural awareness; active listening and counselling skills. Non verbal communications, including body language and presentation

Managing Challenging Behaviour

3 Hrs

Raise awareness of the risks in the workplace and provide skills to divert aggression and recognise escalation

Methods of student assessment

4 Hrs

Covers various methods of assessment including

Formative, Summative, Continuous Assessment, Question and Answer, Multiple Choice, assessing psychomotor skills

Student support and tutorials

Supporting students whilst in the classroom or on placement, communication skills and interview techniques

Curriculum Development

6 hrs

Covers curriculum theory (inc. Taylor 's model) and design and development; schemes of work and the needs of end users

Health and Safety for Placement Officers 12 Hrs (two days) To provide the knowledge and tools necessary for persons to open up and assess placements for safety and suitability for students in adult education

* These courses are highly recommended for training providers seeking to run government funded courses as they demonstrate commitment to Government policies on equality and diversity.
